It should show your Sapphire Radeon RX 5700 XT graphics card and blue columns appearing underneath it, meaning that the graphics card is being used. Then click on the activity monitor application and press Command + 4 to look at GPU history. Once purge-wrangler is installed, then run the set-egpu script in command prompt to check the "prefer external GPU" option for every application in Mac OS X Mojave. I had purge-wrangler installed for My AMD RX 580 graphics card. I did a little bit of research on Fusion drives and that should have no effect on eGPU connectivity.įor my Macbook Pro Mid 2012 Non-retina GT650M laptop, I did two things to get the eGPU working in Mac OS X Mojave.
